GREAT COLD DISTANCE
POISONED POSTCARDS - Memories from unseen places
Someone kept sending me postcards from places unknown, cards depicting locations you would not encounter in a tourist guide. They seemed to have made a long way before ending up in my letterbox. Their surfaces were always damaged, the cardboard musty and scratched. No text had been written on the backside, no sender was ascertainable, the stamp was destroyed. The pictures seemed to be connected to someone’s memory or were proving a stranger’s vision. I was alienated, but decided to keep them and to document the phenomenon... I started scanning the front sides and threw away the original cards. For some years, this was a private pleasure: I saved the images in a secret folder and sometimes even wondered why I kept them. When I finally decided to confide in some friends, I was encouraged to showcase the pictures. Here they are.
All pieces of this series can be purchased as fine art prints on framed canvas. Each motiv is limited to 5 pieces, available in two optional sizes: 90 cm x 135 cm / 120 cm x 180 cm.
